METALLICA In Des Moines: Review, Photos Available
October 27, 2008METALLICA played its first show in Des Moines, Iowa in 12 years last night (Sunday, October 26) in front of more than 9,800 fans at the Wells Fargo Arena. According to DesMoinesRegister.com, "the set drew largely from the classic, pre-'Load' era of the band, with songs from this year's 'Death Magnetic' as the big exception. METALLICA kicked off the show with two songs from that most recent album, 'This Was Just Your Life' and 'The End of the Line'. Fans of catalog albums '... And Justice For All', 'Ride the Lightning', 'Master of Puppets' and 'Metallica' ('The Black Album') got to hear plenty of the band's classic hits. 'Load' and 'St. Anger' were completely absent from the set, with 1997's 'ReLoad' relegated to just one song, 'The Memory Remains'."
